The dilemma of life may be summed up into two stages; the first is to obtain something, and the second is to protect that something after it is obtained.
Digital signage is no different because it can be the cutting edge change you can introduce to your business which makes a significant impact. The trouble is that finding the money to invest in such versatile and expensive equipment can be a bit stressing. And when you finally obtain the equipment, you should keep it away from harm’s way as much as you can. This article will identify the elements which threaten your digital signage equipment, and how you can protect it. 1. Stolen or Physically Damaged People tend to not care about anything that does not belong to them. This is the mindset you should work with when you install digital signage indoors/outdoors. At the moment when you are not looking, it can be stolen or accidentally harmed, and because you are unaware you might not be able to take action. If you have the money, set up an alarm and monitoring system, keeping at least one individual in charge of ensuring the safety of the equipment. And if that is too costly, solidify the quality of installment in such a manner that anyone intentionally taking away your signage has time to be caught. 2. Natural Events When light rain showers turn into thunderstorms and breezes transform into hurricanes, your digital signage has no prayer outdoors, and sometimes even indoors. Although the wrath of nature cannot be negated, it can be minimized. For example, if you have been informed of extreme weather conditions beforehand, try to take all your equipment indoors for the few days when the extremity lasts. Similarly, ensure that the expensive equipment such as the screens is enclosed in sturdy transparent cases which can protect them under most circumstances. If you take such preventive measures beforehand, your signage might continue functioning for you. 3. Proper Ventilation Digital signage has a lot of ways in which it releases energy. Be it may sound or light, the end result for most energies is that it ends up and dissipates as heat. And if that heat finds no place to escape, it ends up damaging your equipment. The players and the screens can all be kept safe if you provide a ventilation outlet to your machines. These outlets will not only secure your equipment for overheating, but it will also keep them protected from the hostile exterior environment. It is a win-win situation. 4. Keep Away from The Sun If the scorching sun particularly loves your part of the country, then you need to take extra protection to keep your digital signage safe. The rays of the sun possess UV light, which can cause isotopic failures and LEDs to burn up and becoming dysfunctional (and even dangerous). Delicate electronic equipment is not designed to face such scorching temperatures alone, and therefore keeping them in shade or under reflecting glass cover can be crucial for their long-term survival. Yes, it is extra effort, but it saves up a lot more for the business in comparison. Posted by Randy Blakeslee - GetnSocial |
