Quality LEDs can last as long as 50,000 to 100,000 hours, which is a full 3 to 6 years longer than fluorescent and neon. Not only do they outlast other bulbs, but because they don’t have any gases that can leak out and cause dimness, they also maintain a better level of brightness throughout their lifespans. 2. Eye-catching Brightness One of the main things distinguishing LED signs apart from other signs is their striking brightness. LED technology is unique in that it produces a brilliant, yet clear light that is easy to read both close up and from a distance. Also, it stands out boldly in the night and is even intense enough to see when the sun’s shining. This means that no matter what time of day, and regardless of whether your customers are walking or driving past, they can get a clear impression of your sign’s message or logo. 3. Environmentally Friendly Typical LED signs use only around 10 watts of power, which is around 80% less energy than neon systems. This lower power requirement results in less strain on the environment, helps you adhere to stricter energy standards, and makes a significant reduction in your lighting costs. Also, unlike neon and fluorescent lights, LEDs don’t have any toxic gases like mercury or argon and are “cleanly” recycled. Furthermore, LEDs put off much less heat than other bulbs, so if your sign is indoors, you don’t have to worry about it warming up your rooms and driving up the air conditioning bill. 4. Lower Maintenance Considering their long lifespans, even brightness, and efficiency, it’s easy to understand why LED signs have far fewer maintenance demands than other systems. LEDs don’t contain any gasses or glass tubes, (which often leak or break), they’re easy to clean (no hot or fragile tubes to deal with), and they essentially never burn out. They work well in outdoor applications and don’t need significant protection from the elements (unlike fluorescent and incandescent bulbs). However, there are “waterproof” LED systems for extremely wet or humid areas. Ultimately, their simplicity and ruggedness make them a breeze to install and a headache free investment. 5. Greater Signage Options With LEDs you can use virtually any combination of lights and create all types of movement, digital flashes, color changes, and animations. This versatility is simply not possible with neon and fluorescent signs. LEDs are composed of multiple, separate lights (not long glass tubes) and can be programmed to flash, fade, or light up independently. This flexibility makes it possible to show off your business’ distinctive logo or to display any other type of attention-grabbing image. LED and neon signs are fairly comparable in price, so your ultimate decision will likely come down to what you want to get from your sign. If you’re looking for a sign to stand out from the crowd and get noticed — all while saving you energy and maintenance — there’s nothing that can top LED. Many business owners do not fully realize how much lighting costs them, or even that their lighting isn't as functional or inviting as it could be. At Quantum Sign Corp., we want business owners to understand the importance of effective lighting, lighting that is perfect for your business and that gives you a good return on investment. Every business owner must decide what's right for their particular needs, so here are a few signs that could help you determine whether LED lighting is right for you.
Invest in LED Lighting Quick way to decrease overhead. Today, energy efficiency is vital. Certain methods of lighting are more cost-effective than others, so you may want to consider LED lighting, which cuts wattage and therefore utility costs. Although you will have the initial costs of having LED lighting installed, the savings will more than make up for it over time. Does your maintenance budget seem to be out of line? Whether you run an office or a manufacturing/industrial plant, the lighting methods you choose can greatly impact monthly utility costs. A lighting upgrade can significantly reduce your maintenance budget if maintenance staff spends a considerable amount of time replacing burned out bulbs or malfunctioning ballasts. Does your lighting look out-of-date to not only staff, but customers? Long gone are the days of ugly fluorescent lighting. When you have various types of lighting in a single room, such as bright white bulbs, fluorescent lights, or those that are yellow tinted, it can present your business in a bad light (no pun intended). Outdated light can have a negative impact on your business, so consider a more consistent atmosphere by using LED lighting. A professional from an electrical or lighting company has contacted you to help improve lighting and save you money. When someone in the commercial lighting industry stops by to tell you how your business could be improved both appearance-wise and budget-wise, it could be a sign that your lighting is really out of date. If your parking lot is lighted by orange colored high pressure sodium lights, you are living in the dark ages! You're one of those who doesn't like change; if it works, why fix it? Many LED bulbs, fixtures, and other products come with warranties of up to ten years. If your staff is constantly changing bulbs, why not change to a more efficient system that costs you less? Whether you are a business owner or property manager, you can enjoy longevity in your lighting system by not having to constantly replace bulbs and/or fixtures. Increase production efficiency and promote job safety. The right lighting is essential for production efficiency, and providing employees a safe environment to work in. LED lighting is one of the best investments you can make as a business owner, whether you run a corporate office, manufacturing plant, warehouse, or other facility. At Quantum Sign Corp., we not only make your business more energy efficient and improve lighting, we help your business stand apart from the rest, and increase employee safety. Contact our LED lighting professionals today, and let us help you cut costs while providing the ultimate lighting experience. If you display the same message on your LED sign for a month, chances are that it will become stagnant to the intended audience and therefore has less impact. You should change it up often. That is what seperates an LED from static signage. Keep the audience interested in what you are saying. Mix it up!
You have a very powerful tool that can be used for the greater good. We encourage our customers to display public service messages when applicable. Messages such as Amber Alerts, severe weather and even local sports scores can ensure that the public relies on your display for up to date information and also the goods or services that you offer. Use good judgement as well to ensure that your graphics are not annoying to viewers. In other words, obnoxoius flashing, extremely fast animations or excessively bright displays can actually make a viewer dislike your message and can fuel municipalities to enforce strict guidelines on LED content. You should research your local sign code (or ask your sign professional) to find out what is allowable where you are located. Once you know what you can do, you should use good taste and even better judgement in your content creation. |
